Morning After Nov.1

(it's hawaiian pizza in hawaii, who can resist? and nope, not sure why it's           sideways, bear with me...)

Good Morning all! Well, I decided that (since I lurk around and read them for a good portion of the day anyway...) it's high time to create my own blog. I can't promise much- I am a busy college student after all- but I'm going to try and keep track of what it's like to try and keep myself in check while staying productive at life!

Keeping in check means a lot of things. It's not easy to find a balance in this hectic, ever-changing world of ours. I'll be attempting to keep my food, fitness, school and relationships (both romantic and platonic) the top priorities in my life. I'll be blogging (when I can/remember! first attempt, guys!) my food, thoughts on nutrition, thoughts on college life (first time away from home), and thoughts in general!

Hopefully I'll figure out how to get an "about me" page up soon so I don't just spend a post introducing myself (because there's Oh so many interesting things concerning me about which to blog- haa). But on to the thoughts of the moment...

Yesterday was halloween and, well, let's just say I don't think that trick or treating has an age limit! A roommates boyfriend came and made us Chicken Parmesean (yup, he's a keeper!). It was generally pretty healthy- chicken breasts coated with egg/breadcrumbs, grilled a bit and stuck in the oven... oh yeah, and a cheese coating... We had pasta and steamed carrots and asparagus to compliment. My costume wasn't as amazing as I hoped (I had found a little bo peep outfit at a second hand store a while ago and was going to find a (black) sheep stuffed animal to carry around, but it's really more suited to Southern California weather, alas) so I made do with some white clothing and bits and pieces of nurses attire. My roommates were equally as creative with makeshift costumes. Considering we had only decided to go out ten minutes before we left, I was pretty proud of us.

Walking around knocking on doors and being generally silly was great and people were, overall, really welcoming. Naturally, it started raining, so we called it a night and headed in to play some Scattergories (because we're cool like that). Oh the piles of candy that accumulated. I actually managed to restrain myself to the things I 'needed' and then had a new flavor of yogurt I found at the store to celebrate (caramel apple- who can pass That sucker up on halloween!?)

This morning I've had a bowl of oatmeal (made with water) mixed with applesauce, copious amounts of cinnamon, crushed walnuts, and a bit of almond milk- hit the spot.

I'll try to take pictures when things are convenient/pretty- promise!

Today I have work and two Beasts of midterm papers to start on- oh the joy. Hopefully I'll get some work done at work (ummm, grammatically correct? School work done at work work, haha) and maybe hit the gym Really quickly. I haven't been too concerned with constant gym visits as my walking has increased a Ton; however, I know the importance of a good strength sesh, so we'll see how motivated I'm feeling/if it's raining/if I catch the bus.

Till later!
